Step 1
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat. Thinly slice onion and bell pepper. Mince garlic.
Step 2
In a skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and bell pepper for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3
Stir in crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. This is your shakshuka base.
Step 4
On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 5
Spread the shakshuka tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Create 4 small wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each well.
Step 6
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or pizza stone). Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden, the sauce is bubbly, and the egg whites are set but yolks are still slightly runny.
Step 7
Remove from oven, sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese and chopped fresh parsley. Drizzle with a little olive oil. Slice and serve immediately.
