Step 1
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
Step 2
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in tomato puree and cook until the oil begins to separate, about 8-10 minutes.

Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add sliced mushrooms and green peas. Mix well, cover, and cook for 5-7 minutes until mushrooms release water and soften.
Step 6
Add 1/2 cup water (or more for desired consistency) and salt. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 7
Stir in garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
