Step 1
Clean mussels: scrub shells, remove beards, and discard any open mussels that don't close when tapped.
Step 2
In a large pot with a tight-fitting lid, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced shallots and garlic; sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.

Pour in white wine, salt, and pepper. Bring to a rapid boil.

Add the cleaned mussels to the pot. Cover tightly and steam for 5-7 minutes, shaking the pot occasionally, until all mussels have opened. Discard any unopened mussels.

Stir in chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately in deep bowls with crusty bread for dipping in the delicious broth.
