Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch baking pan or a 9-inch cast iron skillet.

In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

While cornbread bakes, prepare honey butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter and honey. Mix until smooth.
Step 7
Once cornbread is out of the oven, immediately spread the honey butter over the warm top. Serve warm.
