Step 1
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes.
Step 2
In a large pot, heat oil and sauté sliced onions until golden brown.
Step 3
Add ginger and garlic paste, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Step 4
Stir in mixed vegetables, chopped tomatoes, biryani spices, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
Step 5
Add soaked rice and 4 cups of water, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes until rice is cooked.
