Step 1
Rinse basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
Step 2
In a pot, heat oil and sauté sliced onions, garlic, and ginger until golden.
Step 3
Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, and cardamom; stir for 1 minute.
Step 4
Add mixed vegetables and biryani masala, cooking until fragrant.
Step 5
Drain soaked rice and add to pot with 4 cups of water and salt.

Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer on low for 20-25 minutes.
