Terms of Service

Welcome to Chef AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chef AI website, mobile applications (iOS and Android), and all related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Saturnine LLC ("we," "our," or "us").

By creating an account or using Chef AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Chef AI. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. The Service

Chef AI is an AI-powered cooking assistant and social recipe sharing platform. The Service includes:

  • AI-assisted recipe generation and enrichment
  • Recipe creation, storage, and organization into cookbooks
  • Nutritional information and macro tracking
  • Social features including following, sharing, commenting, rating, and liking
  • AI chat assistant for cooking-related questions
  • Meal logging and nutrition goal tracking

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

4.1 Free & Pro Plans

Chef AI offers a free tier with limited features and a paid "Pro" subscription with additional capabilities. The features and limits of each plan are described on our pricing page and may change over time.

4.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. By subscribing to Pro, you agree to the payment processor's terms of service. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, as selected) until you cancel.

4.3 Cancellation & Refunds

  • You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the subscription management portal in your profile settings.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.
  • If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days for review.

4.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will apply to your next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and upload to Chef AI, including recipes, images, comments, and profile information ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the Service.

5.2 Content Standards

You agree that your User Content will not:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
  • Contain harmful, abusive, threatening, or harassing material
  • Include spam, unauthorized advertising, or solicitation
  • Contain malware or malicious code
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Contain knowingly false or misleading nutritional or health information presented as fact

5.3 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.

6. AI-Generated Content

6.1 Nature of AI Content

Chef AI uses artificial intelligence to generate recipes, nutritional information, ingredient substitutions, wine pairings, and other content. AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

6.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy

AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Specifically:

  • Nutritional data is estimated and should not be relied upon for medical dietary requirements.
  • Allergy information may be incomplete — always verify ingredients if you have food allergies.
  • Cooking instructions may require adjustment based on your equipment, altitude, and ingredient variations.
  • Health-related suggestions are not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for dietary guidance.

6.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using it. We are not liable for any harm resulting from reliance on AI-generated recipes, nutritional information, or suggestions.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product
  • Circumvent any access restrictions, rate limits, or usage limits
  • Resell or redistribute the Service or access to it

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, branding, and documentation, is owned by Saturnine LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

The Chef AI name and logo are the property of Saturnine LLC. You may not use them without our written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

Chef AI integrates with third-party service providers for infrastructure, payments, and AI-powered features. Your use of Chef AI may be subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or appropriate
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Any defects will be corrected

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SATURNINE LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Any AI-generated content, including recipes, nutritional information, or health-related suggestions
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any third-party conduct on the Service
  • Any other matter relating to the Service

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Saturnine LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Sections 5 (User Content licenses), 6 (AI disclaimers), 11 (Disclaimers), 12 (Limitation of Liability), and 13 (Indemnification) survive termination.

15. Platform-Specific Terms

15.1 Apple App Store (iOS)

If you access Chef AI through the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and Saturnine LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Chef AI.
  • In the event of any failure to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Chef AI, including product liability, regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15.2 Google Play (Android)

If you access Chef AI through Google Play:

  • These Terms are between you and Saturnine LLC, not Google. Google is not responsible for the Service.
  • Your use of Chef AI must comply with Google Play's terms of service.
  • Google has no obligation to provide support or handle claims related to Chef AI.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the State of Ohio. Either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in a class action.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Saturnine LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
